Josh Campbell

Student Co-President

Josh is one of the Co-Presidents of the MIAE Student Executive Committee for the 2022- 2023 academic year. He is a U4 Mechanical Engineering student who is especially passionate about aerospace. Through his position in the MIAE, Josh plans to work with and lead the team to organize and host various educational, networking, and entertainment events for the McGill community.

Kisothan Suthakaran

Student Co-President

Kisothan is the co-president of MIAE SEC alongside Josh and a U4 Mechanical Engineering student who is deeply passionate about aerospace and physics. As co-president, he leads the executive team in organizing successful events and actively strives to bridge the gap between academia and the industry. His mission is to offer rewarding opportunities for both sectors to interact and collaborate in a impactful way.

Brooklyn Varela

Student VP Operations

Brooklyn is a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student and is the VP of Operations of MIAE. She has a keen excitement for the aerospace field and aims to spread it through her position at MIAE. In her role, she strives to enhance student involvement within the McGill community, foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture, and ensure effective communication and collaboration between all stakeholders.

Ali Murtaza Malilk

Student VP Finance

Ali Malik is the Vice President of Finance for the MIAE student executive committee for the 2022-2023 academic year. He is going into his fifth year in Honours Mechanical Engineering and is always interested in enhancing his knowledge of the aerospace field. In his role as VP Finance, Ali oversees the SEC’s budget for all their events and maintains efficient communication with the faculty administration to ensure the team uses all its resources effectively.

Luai Abuelsamen

Student VP Media

Luai Abuelsamen is the current VP of Media of the MIAE Student Executive Committee for 2022-2023. He is a U4 Mechanical Engineering student who has a great interest in robotics and mechatronics, especially in the Aerospace industry! As the VP of Media, he targets to expand the reach of MIAE's work and events to a larger community through advertising, to facilitate involvement from our followers in what we're doing.

Alistair Xhayet

Student VP Communications

Alistair Xhayet is the current VP Communications of the MIAE Student Executive Committee for 2022-2023. He is a U4 Mechanical Engineering student who has great interest in aerospace engineering and astrophysics. As a VP Media, he targets to expand the reach of MIAE's work and events to a larger community through advertising, to facilitate involvement from our followers in what we're doing.

Laura Mielke

VP Internal

Laura is the VP Internal of the MIAE Student Executive Committee starting in Winter 2023. She is a U4 Mechanical Engineering Student with a minor in aerospace engineering, with an interest in sustainable aviation. In her role, she intends to promote student engagement in the McGill engineering community, and create a welcoming environment for students interested in aerospace engineering.

Maxime Grousseau

Student VP External

Maxime Grousseau is a 2nd year Mechanical Engineering student and is the VP External of MIAE. He will work to keep strong connections with companies, organizations, and professors whose interests match the MIAE's and will create new ones that will last for years to come. He is pursuing an Aerospace Engineering minor and has a Private Pilot's License in America to one day work on the next generation of jet engines for aircraft.
